      • I am writing πŸ™‚ Or trying to at least. Need to get 2,500 down a day to get this done by November (cutting it tight this year because I lost out on writing time over summer due to family stuff – but life happens) I do need to get this complete by Nov.1st though so I can get editing, additions, tweaks and get it out to Beta readers so I can (all digits and limbs crossed) get book 4 released for December 1st.

Just did a Nessie chapter. That was nice πŸ™‚

      • I have your first 2, but haven’t gotten the 3rd yet. I’d like to be able to do a steady 2.5k/day, but I just can’t seem to stay in the frame of mind I need to be in. I was hoping to get FD finished by at least mid-Dec. but that seems unlikely right now 😦 I’ll keep my finger, toes, ankles and eyes crossed for you!!! πŸ˜€

      • Thanks. On a good day I am an easy 5k. When I am in the zone I am up to 10k a day which I don’t even understand but that’s how I wrote book 2 in 3 months so it happened lol!

I will get it done. Just have to get my family to give me some space to write.

Well I will keep mines crossed for you too. No stress if it takes you a little longer. You can’t rush perfection (unless you’re me πŸ˜‹ pmsl!!) No, in all seriousness I hope you get some calm focus time. It will happen when you least expect it most likely xx

      • It has happened that I cranked out around 10k in a day, but that was only once. A lot of times I won’t gets so much done because I have been editing as I go, but I’m trying to restrict that practice somewhat.

        Thanks for the reassurance😊

      • I just write them in in the format they will be published. I write from start to finish and when I’m done all I do is a typo check as I’ve already reread each chapter 4 or 5 times by that point. I often don’t change a thing – sometimes I just paraphrase and obviously correct typos I find, though it’s not easy on your own to find them all. I do my best 😊 some sections of my books are exactly as they were when they fell out of my head, unchanged and unpolished raw original writing. But I think I have developed that style of raw text quite nicely (at least I like to think I have) You could say I break most if not all the rules of writing for publication πŸ˜‚ oh well. It works for me and that’s the main thing.

      • It always surprises me to find mistakes every time I read mine over, whether it’s spelling, grammar, redundancy…or indeed, irrelevant text or dialogue. I wish my oldest daughter lived next door so she could read over my shoulder! – – – I’ve had several people tell me I should or should not do this, that or the other. Those same people will also add that I shouldn’t let anyone tell me how to write! The great thing about ANYone taking the time to go over my work and then take the time to advise is that I’ve gotten some really valuable input which, I think, has helped. But if we don’t break a few rules, we’ll be writing like everyone else!!!

      • I’ll let you in on my wee method shall I?

I write then read it back, copy, paste into an email and send it to my hubby and my mother in law. I read it again, change anything I notice then move on to the next section. They both come back to me and tell me if they see an issue, if I’ve not already caught it I change it there and then and boom that’s 4 checks done at once.

Email is your friend :p (or more accurately my friend)

      • Ah ha! That idea hit me a few months ago for my first 3 chapters, before I finally got internet service. I wasn’t able to view her suggestions very well on my ph screen (screenshots) so I’m only just now getting around to it. She’s awfully busy too, though, with her next book, modeling career and other business, so I don’t want to bother her much. I do have one daughter I thought to enlist but she still has 8 of 10 kids and 2 “baby grands” in the home, so she hasn’t the time or energy! There’s one person who has been sweet enough to agree to do ongoing beta(?) reading for me…I guess you could include that into the ‘Beta’ designation, right? And I get technical advice from a couple of other established authors…and I do it all via email attachments!!! Wish Mama was still around. It’s because of her influence that I write at all.
