To Be-ta or Not To Be-ta (Beta Readers…get it?!!)

"Please, sir, may I have more...books?!"

“Please, sir, may I have more…books?!”

Shakespeare had it right. He just spelled it wrong. It’s “Beta” or “Be-ta”. And that’s definitely the question!

I’d heard about beta readers for months after I made the decision to go ahead and pursue publishing “Folded Dreams” in book form (that was before I decided to make a novel of it, and tacked on ” – the Beginning” to the title!).

I went along having conversations about them, like I had a clue; I thought a beta reader was some new, upgraded version of, like, the Kindle or Nook reader.

Old Fossil.

So now that I know that a beta reader is to books, what a beta-tester is to manufactured products, I’m thinking it’s a good idea to scout around for (more than) a few.

A Beta Hunter, if you will.

I have a few people in mind (you know who you are!), but I’d really like to know how many other people are up to it. I know I’d love to be able to read books by other authors who would like an honest review, whether for book that’s already been published or is in its pre-pub state (beta).

Comments, anyone?
